HAZOP/HAZID
- Develop practical skills in HAZID and HAZOP for fire and security risks.
- Identify weaknesses in fire protection, emergency, and security safeguards before incidents occur.
- Improve risk assessment, barrier evaluation, and risk-based decision-making.
- Gain practical experience through HAZID/HAZOP workshops and realistic scenarios.
- Strengthen the quality of hazard-analysis reports, recommendations, and follow-up actions.
This 5-day course provides a practical approach to applying HAZID and HAZOP methodologies to fire protection, emergency response, security, and critical asset risks. Participants will learn to identify hazards and threats, evaluate causes and consequences, assess safeguards, rank risks, and develop practical risk-reduction actions.
The course combines fire and security risk assessment, HAZID/HAZOP workshops, case studies, and scenario-based exercises to develop practical hazard-analysis and risk-management skills.
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Understand and apply HAZID, HAZOP, and complementary hazard-analysis techniques.
- Identify fire, explosion, emergency, security, and operational hazards.
- Analyze causes, consequences, safeguards, vulnerabilities, and risk levels.
- Apply HAZID/HAZOP techniques to fire protection and security systems.
- Evaluate existing barriers and identify gaps in preventive and mitigative controls.
- Develop, document, prioritize, and follow up practical risk-reduction recommendations.
