Advanced Drilling Inspection & Maintenance
In order to ensure optimum performance of your rig, reduce downtime and maintain safety of your personnel, planned maintenance and accurate inspections are essential.
This five-day course teaches the inspection and maintenance procedures required to ensure equipment integrity on land rigs. Participants learn to implement the relevant standards and understand industry requirements so that they can verify the condition of a rig’s equipment and improve safety, thus reducing the number of accidents and protecting the asset.
Upon the successful completion of this training course, the participant(s) will be able to:
- Improve the awareness of what a rig inspection involves.
- Increase the knowledge of several important standards from API.
- Improve the basic knowledge of well control equipment and well control equipment standards.
- Independently carry out a basic visual (External & Internal) rig inspection.
- Describe the main inspection criteria for major equipment.
- Identify major items that have an impact on the safety and operation of a rig.
- Recognize the indicators of the overall condition of a drilling rig (Condition Level).
- List the relevant standards (such as API) and their implications for drilling equipment.
- Understand the basics of EX equipment installed in hazardous areas.
- Evaluate basic maintenance and inspection procedures on the rig to identify compliance with good practices.
- Be aware of the whole rig equipment & specifications (Onshore & Offshore) – (Drilling / Workover / Pulling Unit).
- Be aware of all NDT Inspection Categories.
- Be aware of how rig dimensions & clearance measuring process (Grooves, Sheaves, Bearings…) are taken and measured.
- Be aware of all API CAT III (SOF for 6 Months) Procedures & Certifications Process.
- Be aware of all API CAT IV (COC for 5 Years) Procedures & Certifications Process.
- How to write professional inspection reports.
- How to run Ready to Drill Integrity Test (RDIT).
- Be aware of all rig equipment function tests.
- Be aware of all Rig Acceptance Process based on a detailed Check List.
